Efforts to Improve Bali Cattle Productivity

PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT RESEARCH COLLABORATION BETWEEN Unram BALI CATTLE-ACIAR-TIMOR LESTE GOVERNMENT

Aprersiasi very high given by the Government of Australia to Bali Cattle Research Group at the University of Mataram. For the first time Unram trusted by the Australian Government through the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) to research the long-term (3 years) in increasing the productivity of Bali cattle in East Timor. Similarly, the signing of a letter of intent signed by the Rector of the University, Prof. Mataram. Ir. Sunarpi, Ph.D with Vice ACIAR Dr. Peter Horne and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Timor Leste Valentono Varela M.Sc. on February 28, 2011 in Courtroom Rector of the University of Mataram.

In the MOU document Australian Government commitment to support efforts to increase livestock production especially Bali Cattle are the experts entrusted to researchers-researchers from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Unram. In sambutanya said Prof Sunarpi revealed, this activity is the implementation of the MOU between the Ministry of Agriculture of East Timor with Unram a signed July 8, 2010 ago. Later in his speech the representative ACIAR, Dr. Peter Horne said this is the first time ACIAR funded researcher from Indonesia (Unram) to conduct research in other countries (Timor Leste). Furthermore Dr. Perer Horne said, this is a form of high award from the Government of Australia on the experiences and research results achieved by the Faculty of Animal Husbandry teolah special Unram

Hopefully, this cooperation can improve Unram reputation internationally and may encourage Unram researchers in other fields of research to focus on developing seed (Mataram University Relations)
