ENGLISH TRAINING ASSISTANCE (ELTA) FOR UNRAM ALUMNI

We would like to inform you that Australia Awards Indonesia will hold an “English Language Training Assistance (ELTA)” program in Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). This will be the third ELTA program in NTB and this year we would like to inform you about this so that you can advise your friends, family and colleagues based in Nusa Tenggara Barat who may be interested in the program and applying for an Australia Awards Scholarship in the 2015/2016 application round.

 The ELTA program is developed to assist the candidates who meet scholarship criteria, but who have IELTS of 4.5 (or TOEFL equivalent) and therefore below the English language levels marginally below the language requirement for applying Australia Awards Scholarships.

This training is directed to upgrade English language ability in all four skills areas (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking); develop academic study skills; develop effective self-directed study techniques; develop general and field-specific English language skills as well as confidence in communication in English, both in the academic environment and in broader social contexts; and to develop the English language skills and test-taking strategies necessary to achieve the higher IELTS score required to apply for the 2015-2016 Australia Awards Scholarships round. The training will be facilitated by the trainers from Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF) Bali and NTB.

The detail of this ELTA is as follows:

Duration                : 12 weeks, commencing 1 September  until 21 November 2014

Type of Training    : Full day training, 5 days a week (working hours)

Location                 : Mataram

The applicants for this training must meet the following criteria:

1. Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.75 on a scale of a maximum 4.0;

2. Attach a proof of English language proficiency (not TOEFL prediction test), with  a minimum score equal to TOEFL 500 (IELTS 4.5). The result must be current  (obtained in 2013/2014);

3. Be not older than 41 years of age at the application closing date (30 June 2014);
